Even though we are swimming long course, some of our swims are 100 IM or by 25 so we have to switch at the halfway point down the pool. Ther are not any markers so I have been using a palm tree that is about halfway down. I think we should tie a yellow ribbon around the old palm tree so everyone can tell when to switch. I know we should count strokes for the changeover point but I think that the ribbon would be more fun. I also think that we should write a song about it, of wait, that has been done except that Tony Orlando used an oak tree!
Lots of rain today. It poured so hard that at one point that the coaches were soaked. The. It cleared up and became hot again. Thanks to Taras and Karen for moving our bags to a dry spot.
Some swimmers went to the beach after practice and were caught in more rain. We were about to go there as well but ended up in the pool/bar area. Sun came out and it was hot once again.
Evening workout was warm up, drills and breast stroke starts. Excellent tips on how to get more distance on the start. Meeting after workout was about how to adjust once we leave camp and get back into our usual routines. There will not be any two-a-days at home!
Last workout of week 1 is Tuesday am. I am really going to miss all my new friends. I hope we will have the opportunity to meet again at Nationals in Montreal this May. Bye for now, safe travels!!
