Bonjour mes Amis!

I am glad to report that the swimmers from Montreal made it here safe and sound. There are a few familiar faces - Taras, our coach, his wife Andrea (who I met at Nationals in Montreal this past May), and three repeat swimmers from last year - Fiji, Janine and Bianca. In total there are about 18 swimmers from Montreal. Unfortunately one swimmer was turned back at the airport as her passport was due to expire in less than 6 months. The Canadians seem to be really strict about implementing this rule. We were also joined by two more B.C. Swimmers, Cathy's husband John and their daughter Alexandra. This is a very diverse group, both in swimming abilities and age. We will all do the same workout, some will do more of the same sets and others will do less. I have found myself in the middle of the pack again which is totally fine with me.

We had our first meeting on Tuesday night in the tiki bar. There was so much noise from the blender that you had a hard time hearing people talk. It would appear to me that this group is favoring blender drinks more so than the group last week. I'm with them. These frothy delights are soooo good!!!

Workouts will alternate two a day/one a day. This is great as we will have more time to relax and have some fun. After all, we are also on vacation! I swam a total of 6,000 meters in the two workouts yesterday, which I thought was pretty good. Today, I did 5,000 meters in the morning workout. Not too shabby! We are spending some time at the beach today and I would also like to sit on the bar stools at the swim up bar.

A group of us are dining at the Italian a la carte restaurant tonight. Hannes' birthday is tomorrow and he would like to go to the Mexican restaurant for his favourite food fajitas!! Then on Saturday we are going on an historical tour of churches, castles and lighthouses. Someone recommended to Laura about an American couple who lives here and does private tours for 4 to 6 people. The tour lasts 4 hours. I am looking forward to that as it will give me so many more photo opportunities than I would have had otherwise. And don't worry, we will not miss the swim workout as the tour vehicle will be picking us up at 11 a.m., after swimming and breakfast!!!

The weather has been consistent with every day being at least 30C plus humidity. I have lots of colour and a ton of freckles!
